France-China: wooing Hu

Chinese President Hu Jintao is in France for a three-day visit and President Nicolas Sarkozy has received him with full military honours. The two leaders are meeting for business deals, which annoys human rights activists. And human rights even seems to have been put aside deliberately, as no joint press conference is scheduled.

A debate with Laura Baines and guests:

Jean-François DI MEGLIO, Economist and President of the Asia Centre at Sciences Po
Emmanuel LINCOT, Chair of the Contemporary China Studies at the Institut Catholique de Paris and Editor-in-chief of “Monde Chinois”
Jean-Joseph BOILLOT, Economic Advisor on Emerging Countries for the CEPII Club

Programme prepared by Bilal Tarabey and Perrine Desplats
