Do you have a joyful life.
Seeking redemption?
I can only imagine the reaction is one of the US cable news operations set up a debate on whether Jacques Chirac could be "redeemed."
The Redemption of George Bush before les cher tetes blonds?
Redeem himself? To whom? Europeans? For simply being offensive to their sensibilities?
Of all the presuppositions I've heard from Europeans over the past 30 years, that is very nearly the most arrogant and self-absorbed that I think I've ever heard.
His recent interviews in the US media were prefaced with the hope that he would bite whoever he interviewed, and he proved that he was essential GWB: gracious, thoughtful, a gentleman, thankful and with warmest wishes for President Obama.
For heaven's sake, what more do you want from him?
