The Democrats took a pounding in the US mid-term elections. Before the new Republican majority takes power in January, there will be a final 'lame duck' session of the Democratic majority Congress. The Democrats will try use their majority to push through favored legislation. One of the issues they'll be dealing with is the "Don't ask, don't tell" policy concerning gays in the military.
