After trimming down his cabinet, is Nicolas Sarkozy in fighting form for his assumed 2012 re-election bid? Millions of Catholics around the world were left trying to fathom the pope’s position after Benedict 16th said that in some cases, the use of condoms could be justified. Just last year his holiness said condoms could actually be exacerbating the HIV epidemic in Africa and the only way to curb infection was via abstinence and fidelity. Does this turnaround mean the Catholic Church is finally going soft on condoms?
