The EU Working Tine Directive states that the legal limit is 48hrs. So Irish labour will have to work a minimum of a 48hr week and be taxed more, to clear the debt. The old saw that the banks can go hang, is only possible, so long as pensioners do not expect to receive a pension and anyone on social security payments, is content to do without, too, since that was the bulk of the money that was pumped through the banking system to keep the Celtic Tiger roaring.
