On November 22nd, debt-ridden Ireland announced an ambitious austerity plan designed to secure a 85-billion-euro bailout from the EU and IMF. Speaking in Strasbourg, EU President Herman Van Rompuy sought to ease fears that Ireland's troubles would spread to Portugal and Spain but markets have remained jittery. Could the euro survive another storm?
