STORY 1 : EGYPT
 
We begin today with the legislative elections in Egypt. Longtime president Hosni Mubarak's party was the big winner, virtually wiping out the opposition. They blamed widespread fraud and vote-rigging. Our Observer tells us about one case of ballot-stuffing - and says it's not a good sign for next year's presidential race.

Now to the favelas of Rio de Janeiro... and the Brazilian government's offensive against drug gangs there.
 
Observer : Pedro Serra followed one of the raids in the Vila Cruzeiro favela.

We finish today with a subway story...  from New York. Our Observer was riding the train, minding her own business, when she was confronted by a flasher. Instead of getting embarrassed and looking the other way, she decided she was not going to take it.
