Ivory Coast election
After Kenya and Zinbabwe, Gbagbo must have worked out that with the Army and Security in his grip, he could steal another extension to his tenure in power. I am very glad ECOWAS have resolved to use force if he does not leave. African leaders seem to follow the bad examples and ignore the good ones of Nelson Mandela and Kenneth Kaunda. Kenya and Zinbabwe were very bad precedents and should no longer be encouraged if democracy is to be firmly established in Africa. I pray and hope the threat of legitimate force comes quickly into effect and succeeds because AU and ECOWAS are on the right road.
