Humourous protests in Belgium, Chaplin-style arrest and poetry Slam in Togo

Derek Thomson presents a news show produced exclusively from content provided by amateurs: photos, videos and personal accounts from our network of Observers around the world - all checked by our staff in Paris. First run Saturdays at 8:10 am Paris time.

Presentation: Derek Thomson. Editorial Team: Julien Pain, Lorena Galliot, Segolène Malterre, Sarra Grira and Paul Larrouturou.

STORY 1 : BELGIUM

We begin today with the political mess in Belgium. The country's been scraping by for seven months without a government. And there's talk of a split - between the French-speaking Walloons and the Flemish - who speak Flemish. Our Observer explains that many Belgians have simply had enough. They're taking to the streets, in a very Belgian way.

Observer : Geoffrey Hanston in Brussels.

STORY 2 : CHINA

Next up we have a Keystone Kops incident... in China. A policeman who fires five times at a suspect - without hitting him once. It happened last year, but the video has just hit the Chinese Web.

Observer : Li Moral in Beijing.

STORY 3 : TOGO

We finish today with spoken word, in Africa. Spoken word's a kind of poetry that's recited at live events called 'slams'... it's somewhere between Beat poetry of the 50s, and modern day hip hop. And it's making inroads... in Togo.

Observer : Efy Mike O’Saboutey in Lomé.
