FRENCH PAPERS, Fri., 11/2/2011: The French front pages are split between Mubarak's speech to the Egyptian public and Sarkozy's annual televised debate, greatly overshadowed by events in Cairo. Libération leads with a photo of the Egyptian premier with photos of an angry crowd inside. The editorial starts and finishes with one word: "Dégage!" (Beat it!). Le Figaro choses to lead instead with Sarkozy's television appearance, focusing on domestic issues.

A video allegedly showing his death fanned the flames of the Second Intifada. But the Israeli papers wonder if putting the picture back in people’s minds won't cause Israel more harm than good.
