Internet freedom: a human right?

Pro-democracy movements around the globe, from Iran, Tunisia to Egypt, have all used the Internet as a key tool to jumpstart social movements. While most people, including Egyptians, took internet access for granted, the suddenness of Egypt’s internet shutdown raises the question: is access to the internet a human right?
