Libya unrest: Girding for a very long battle

Libyan troops loyal to embattled leader Muammar Gaddafi used artillery and helicopter gunships in their effort to block pro-democracy rebels. Gaddafi warned that if he is toppled, Europe would be "invaded by an unstoppable tide of thousands of immigrants."
