Jacques Chirac is on the front page of France Soir, Le Figaro and Le Canard Enchaîné. The former French president was meant to appear in court for a corruption trial but the case has been put on hold until June.
 
In other news, Le Parisien gives you tips on how to save money and petrol in times of inflation.
 
Meanwhile, the far-right party continues to attract attention. Le Figaro reacts to the controversial surveys published this week about Marine Le Pen’s potential victory in the first round of the 2012 Presidential election.
 
Libération focuses on the French leader Nicolas Sarkozy and his decision to give up a security measure announced over the summer in Grenoble.
 
And finally, La Croix and Le Parisien report about the start of Lent.

Algerian meanwhile say the conditions are similar to Algeria in the 1990s in the lead up to the civil war. Algerian papers are also reacting to the censoring of two dailies over an article that alleged President Abdelaziz Bouteflika had slipped into a coma.
