A victory for democracy?

FRENCH PAPERS, Tues., 3/5/2011: Bin Laden’s killing is “a victory for democracy over blackmail, a victory for civilization over barbarism,” says the right-leaning daily Le Figaro. However left-leaning Libération says that the war on terror has lead to torture, surveillance of citizens, disrespect for international law and a general rolling back of democratic principles in the US.
