Gérard Chaliand, military strategist

Marc Perelman meets Gérard Chaliand, an expert in war zones. Chaliand learned about the world and its struggles by leaving home when he was 18 and traveling the globe, fighting alongside guerillas and hopping from Algeria to Vietnam to Colombia. A fascinating journey which he recounts in his memoirs, the first part of which is being published here in France.
