France goes gaga for Socialist grandfather

FRENCH PAPERS, Tues., 10/5/2011: It’s a full-blown mania in the French papers for « Tonton » François Mitterand or “Uncle” as he was known was elected 30 years ago today. He is the only Socialist President France has had. The French left is hoping to emulate his success a year for now when France goes to the polls the elect a new President.
