Turkey's relations with Syria at risk over unrest
Relations between Turkey and Syria have historically been strained, but the two neighbours have become a lot closer in recent years. Syrians no longer need visas to enter Turkey and many have taken refuge across the border following the unrest at home. Two Middle-East countries displaying a model relationship by respecting each others Sovereignty, allowing their citizens to cross borders without Visas, and cross-border merchandising.
Many Syrians are now Vacationing in Turkey, rather than Europe. Istanbul became much more attractive than Paris or London nowadays.
