The truth at last: black boxes reveal what happened on flight AF447
A combination of pilot and technical errors caused Air France flight 447 to crash into the Atlantic on June 1st 2009. The recently retrieved black boxes have shown that the plane's pitot tubes, which monitor air speed, had malfunctioned, causing pilots to lose control of the plane. All 228 people on board were killed in the accident.
