Muammar Gaddafi urged his supporters to “destroy” opposition fighters in an audio message aired on a loyalist television network Thursday, while his opponents pushed towards his hometown, Sirte. Follow events as they unfold on our liveblog.

• Muammar Gaddafi called on Libyans to “fight and destroy” opposition forces in Tripoli in an audio message broadcast Thursday afternoon.
• Gaddafi’s location remains unknown; his spokesperson Moussa Ibrahim says he is constantly on the move.
• Opposition fighters control most of Tripoli, but there is still sporadic violence in the capital and elsewhere in the south and east.
