Gaddafi's desperate bid to save regime
Friday's international papers are still focused on Libya, reporting on the Gaddafi regime's desperate attempts to end the NATO bombing and the human rights abuses being committed by both sides in the conflict. Also, the Italian press calls on their government to tax the Vatican.

The Guardian's correspondent reports on letters sent by Gaddafi's ministers begging Obama to end the bombing which have been found in their abandoned offices in Tripoli.
The Independent's correspondent has been to Gaddafi's most notorious prison and reports on human rights abuses by both sides.
And Italian paper L'Espresso calls on its government to help pay Italy's national debt by ending tax loopholes for the Vatican.
