Sarkozy calls for united EU voice on Palestinian statehood
French President Nicolas Sarkozy urged fellow EU countries on Wednesday to find a united stance on the issue of Palestinian statehood for next month's UN General Assembly, while pressuring the US to step up its efforts to sow peace in the region.

REUTERS - French President Nicolas Sarkozy said on Wednesday he wanted to see a united European Union voice on the issue of Palestinian statehood at next month's United
Nations General Assembly and urged Washington to do more for peace.
"The 27 countries of the European Union must express themselves with one voice," Sarkozy said in an opening speech to an annual conference of French ambassadors.
"The role of the U.S. is uncontested and irreplaceable, but everybody sees that it is not enough. We have to widen the circle of negotiation, think of the role and pertinence of the
quartet."
Sarkozy said the world could not continue to leave the Palestinian peace process frozen while the Arab Spring forces change elsewhere in the region.

Palistinian Statehood
Its not for the U.S to judge whether Palistinian people need some inyernational legitimacy from the U.N but the Palistinias have spoken boldly that they want independance and so should the zionist regime consider that
Mr. Sarkozy
You're a Star Sir. Respect!
Israel
Palestine shouldn't be given statehood coz its not ready its ill prepared
Pres.Sarkozy-EU one voice re: Palestine
Does Monsieur Le President Sarkozy suffer from complexus Napoleonus? Since when is France trying to deny the human rights of fellow European nations of deciding for themselves whether or not they approve/disapprove of certain policies- where is France's liberte gone? Just say no to Sarkozy, merci beaucoup.
PEACE
Mr Sarkozy is right there should be a peace deal so that the fighting between Palestinians and the Israelis stops for peace to be in the region. and this should go to all leaders in the world that fighting can not always solve problems but worsens it. But sitting down and negotiating is the proper thing to do to avoid most hurting innocent lives.
unilateral declaration of another Arab state
It seems to me that Pres. Sarkozy despises the principle of a man's word, including signed agreements. The PLO now calls for recognition of another Arab state without negotiating with Israel and despite the PLO/PA's commitments under the Oslo accords. Sarkozy also despises Israel's rights to the Jewish National Home endorsed by the League of Nations in 1922 and confirmed by the UN in 1945, covering both banks of the Jordan. Sarkozy's course, his Middle Eastern policy is very dangerous
because it enables the PLO/PA to avoid negotiations with Israel, a risky situation. The PLO has not up till now stopped its genocidal agitation against Israel and the Jews [the Hamas does it too]. In fact, the declaration of another Arab state which continues to demand all of Israel's territory is a declaration of war. Annette Young made a grave mistake this morning when she claimed that Sarkozy was trying to get Netanyahu to resume negotiations. In fact, it was Abu Mazen, head of the Islamofascist PLO/PA who broke off negotiations with Israel in September 2008 when Olmert, not Netanyahu, was prime minister.
