Sarkozy took envelopes of cash from L'Oréal heiress, witness says

Libération's front page will make unwelcome reading in the Elysée palace - they publish extracts from a new book which interviews people with a grudge against Nicolas Sarkozy. The witness was reportedly too frightened to make these allegations on the record at the time.

La Croix concentrates on shocking new statistics showing that one French person out of seven lives below the poverty line - while Le Parisien's reporters have visited Alabama to look at what a bankrupt town looks like.

Le Figaro concentrates on Libya - analysing why Algeria has agreed to take in the Gaddafi family.
