Just begun? are you for real?

the battle for oil began on that day somewhere behind closed doors, in some murky dark passageway, when the plan to get Gaddaffi out was formulated. Plans that were designed to come into operation long before the 'rebellion' began.

The same applies to Syria, but I have to wonder just what lies below the ground in Syria that creates such a frenetic agenda to throw over one of the most stable regimes in the region?

Syrian friends tell me they are desperate to keep their country on the present path, as so far, it has raised the standard of living, education, employment etc far beyond that of many of the other fractious states in the middle east.

The likely outcome of the downfall of the Assad regime is a sharp turn into the sort of Islamic theocracy existing in their neighbour, Iran.

I am with Russia and c China on the matter of leaving Syria alone.

Libya?? could be the same, but also could become yet another vassal state of the Euro/American oil grab.
