French Senate: the Left takes control

For the first time since 1958, the Left has taken control of the French Senate. This does not bode well for President Nicolas Sarkozy, only seven months ahead of next year's presidential polls where he is widely expected to run for re-election.

Marc Perelman interviews Philip Turle, Journalist with Radio France Internationale, and Jean-Marc Gonin, Senior reporter with Le Figaro Magazine.

Programme prepared by Narimène Laouadi.
