- Carla Bruni-Sarkozy - Gilad Shalit - Iran - Republicans (USA) - Yulia Tymoshenko

Is the Iranian assassination plot really credible?

Reports a prisoner swap has been brokered to free Gilad Shalit is on all the front pages - but not everyone backs it. We also take a look at the alleged Iranian plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to the US - is it really plausible?

By Elena CASAS

Time magazine says the brokered plan to free Gilad Shalit is a win-win situation - but the Jerusalem Post accuses Netanyahu of capitulating to Hamas.

The Guardian thinks the US account of the alleged Iranian plot to kill the Saudi ambassador is fishy - why would the ruthlessly efficient al-Quds brigade hire a Mexican drug trafficker?

The Daily Beast says Yulia Tymoshenko will be more trouble for Viktor Yanukovych in jail than out.

And the Guardian's correspondent here in Paris isn't too convinced by Carla Bruni's claims she won't expose her baby to the public eye - saying Sarkozy won't waste the political capital.
