What is Papandreou thinking?

The Greek, German and British press weigh in on the referendum debate - is Papandreou sacrificing the eurozone's interests for his own career, and should the people have their say?

Greek papers Eleftherotypia (left) and Kathimerini (right) rarely agree on anything - but they both think Papandreou is set to lose this referendum, and bring down his government.

There's also disagreement in Germany - Die Zeit says the move will spark chaos, but the Financial Times Deutschland thinks it could be a canny trick.

The New York Times reports more and more ordinary Greeks back leaving the euro altogether - and returning to the drachma.
