French papers say ciao to Berlusconi

There's one man on all the French front pages - the fallen Cavaliere. The left-wing papers rejoice in his departure, while on the right there's rather more fear and worry about what could be next for Italy.

Liberation is thrilled Berlusconi has finally gone - but worried the way he was forced out by market forces rather than the ballot box sets a bad precedent for democracy.

Le Monde says it's finally one bit of good news for the eurozone, while le Figaro warns us Italy's problems are not over - and chaos could follow.

Les Echos says austerity is lucky for some - in this case, Nicolas Sarkozy, whose poll ratings are up.
