Goudemalion at Paris' Museum of Decorative Arts

Paris’ Museum of Decorative Arts presents the first major retrospective dedicated to photographer Jean-Paul Goude.

There are no limits to the talent of this iconic style-setter and image manipulator. Illustrator, photographer, filmmaker, artistic director, graphic designer…and so much more. For the past four decades, he has applied his unique visual style to anything from the media to music. Jean-Paul Goude reshaped and re-boosted bodies, subverting visual codes, and creating new female icons.

The title of the show is Goudemalion – a play on words invented by the philosopher Edgar Morin as a reference to the legendary King of Cyprus, ‘Pygmalion’. Goude has turned his inner fantasies into real-life myths.
