World feels heat of global warming
World temperatures are on the climb, with the past decade and a half witnessing the 13 hottest years on record, the UN weather office said Tuesday. The Arctic sea ice has also shrunk to a record low in 2011.

AP - The U.N. weather office says world temperatures maintained a long-term upward trend and Arctic sea ice shrank to record low volumes this year.
The report by the International Meteorological Organization, released in Geneva and at the U.N. climate talks Tuesday, provided a bleak backdrop to negotiators seeking ways to limit pollution blamed for global warming.
The report says 2011 was tied for the 10th hottest year since records began in 1850.
It says the 13 hottest years on the books all occurred in the last 15 years.
The extent of Arctic sea ice in 2011 was the second lowest on record, and its volume was the lowest.
The report came on the second day of the two-week conference in South Africa among 192 parties seeking agreement on future action to curb climate change.

climate change
The area where I live in S. California, USA, has not warmed over the past few decades. We are currently facing some very low overnight temperatures - and no worsening drought which the global warming people predicted.
I would certainly not claim that no places anywhere have warmed.
What I WOULD definitely argue is whether this is natural climate change, aggravated by human activities in some areas, whether ALL the weather variables are properly considered and why climate scientists have tended to scale back earlier predictions concerning global warming.
Global Climate Change
My last comment must have been determined to be too long....so I will be brief. I live in Alaska....when I go ice fishing I know how deep I have to augur to reach water....it has been increaseing, our summers have been cooler and rainier (more like when I was a kid, and glaciers are growing. I experienced a period where I was with'Global Climate Change', back when it was calling for an ICE AGE,Same scientists...different story....all baloney.
Global Climate Change
I live in Anchorage, AK USA and I have a history with Global Climate Change that dates back to the late 70's. I volunteered to help set up the first Earth Day here in Anchorage, subscribed to Mother Earth News and even attended a seminar here in Anchorage in 1976 on the damage man had done to his environment and how we were heading for catastrophic consequences. My dad and I would often argue about this, I kept a program from this conference for many years. In the early 80's he stopped me short when I was on a tirade about the coming catastrophy with this, "Evan if these scientists are right about a coming ICE AGE, then why are the glaciers receding?" My dad died in 1990 I have fished an hunted glacier areas every year of my life.....I watched the glaciers retreat, watched the scientists (the same ones) change from'ice-age coming' to 'global-warming coming' to 'global-climate change coming'. I am tired of the whole lie....and now I get to ask my father's question with REAL meaning....IF THE CLIMATE IS WARMING SO DRAMATICALLY WHY ARE THE GLACIERS NOW GROWING....FASTER THAN THEY RETREATED? I live here I watch them I have seen growth in every single glacier I know of (and we have a lot of them). I need NO scientist to tell me my hour and a half hike to the foot of the Mendenhal is now just over an hour....I need no scientist to tell me how we have had warm summers whenthe summer just past was chilly and rainy and we are now in the COLDEST November in quite a long time.STOP THIS FOOLISHNESS. You call people Global Warming Deniers' better check your meaning of denial, because you are most emphatically in denial.
