'Merkozy is running for the French presidency'

The French papers react to Nicolas Sarkozy's big eurozone speech - there's criticism he's agreed to hand more powers over to Brussels, praise for his determination to resolve the crisis, and a call for a more concrete details about what exactly he intends to do.

Liberation says Nicolas Sarkozy is handing over France's sovereignty to the Germans, while Le Figaro praises him for taking decisive action in a time of crisis.

In the business press, Les Echos says he still hasn't gone far enough - and needs to back every element of Angela Merkel's position - while la Tribune reckons his speech was still too short on detail.
