Is there a Socialist alternative to Merkozy?

François Hollande is on tour this week - he's in Berlin trying to hammer out a Socialist alternative to Merkozy's austerity, but will voters buy it? We also look at France's dependence on foreign doctors, the mafia in Marseille and Paris' shiny new electric car rental scheme.

Le Figaro attacks François Hollande and his opposition to France handing sovereignty over to Brussels - saying he represents an old-school nationalism that's had its day.

Les Echos says he faces an uphill struggle to get himself taken seriously on the international stage - while Liberation says the German SDP might not be as keen on his plan for a socialist approach to saving the euro as he is.

Le Parisien leads on foreign doctors - saying tough immigration policy is making it harder for them to stay in France, but that it couldn't do without them.

Liberation headlines on the rising violence in Marseille - saying it's not necessarily that there's more crime than in the past, but that there are more AK 47s.

L'Humanité has bad news for environmentalists from Durban - but Liberation has better news, as the Autolib electric car rental scheme launches in Paris.
