PSG beats Sochaux 1-0 in French league

Paris Saint-Germain leveled with French league leader Montpellier in the standings after beating Sochaux 1-0 on Saturday. Montpellier still holds the top spot on goal difference despite losing 1-0 at Valenciennes.

France international Kevin Gameiro dribbled past Sochaux defender Loic Poujol to notch his ninth goal this season with an angled shot in the 20th minute.

Montpellier still holds the top spot on goal difference despite losing 1-0 at Valenciennes.
Valenciennes midfielder Foued Kadir converted a rebound after Montpellier goalkeeper Geoffrey Jourdren parried a powerful drive from David Ducourtioux in the 46th.

Also, it was: Rennes 1, Brest 1; Toulouse 2, Evian 1; Saint-Etienne 2, Caen 0; and Nancy 2, Ajaccio 2.

Marseille played Bordeaux late Saturday.
