Exclusive report: Inside North Korea

Just a few weeks before North Korean leader Kim Jong-il died, reportedly of a heart attack, FRANCE 24’s Cyril Payen managed to go into North Korea - one of the most closed countries in the world.

By Cyril PAYEN / Régis DESCONCLOIS

Crossing the North Korean border is like leaving the 21st century and the modern world to dive into the unknown. It's a step back in time to the era of the socialist ideal, to the first century according to the Kim dynasty calendar established by the regime.

Under the constant surveillance of minders, we visit the capital of Pyongyang and even get a glimpse of the countryside in this hermetically sealed nation over the course of five days in the most closed country in the world.

they are like their Ancestors in the Ancient kingdom of Goguryeo

I have to say, they are no different than their ancestors, the ancinet kingdom of Goguryeo, King Dongmyeong (Jumong) is Kim Il Sung, the founder of the kingdom. on the latter case the founder of the country. King Yuri (Jumong's Son) cemented the mantle of their Kingdom by moving the Capital to GungNae in preparation for the kingdoms expansion, the latter Kim Jong Il established the nuclear weapons program to secure their place as a Nuclear Uper Power. The Third King of Goguryeo, King Daemusin, offen referred to as "great warrior" who had many military accomplishments, he was also the third son of King Yuri and grand son of King DongMyeong (jumong), who centralized Goguryeo's Power and expanded its teritory through Military Conquest. Now will the later Kim Jong-un be the same? Is History repeating itself? After all the geographical location of North Korea used to belong to Goguryeo, though the later had a Family name of Kim while in Ancient times thier Family name is Go (Ko).
