Mubarak on trial

The trial of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, over his role in repressing an uprising earlier this year in which around 850 people died, has briefly resumed in Cairo. Many slam the trial as a farce, pointing out that the ousted leader is being judged by old allies in the military. The transition to democracy in Egypt appears be slowing, with Tahrir Square once again occupied by protesters who are calling for an end to military rule.
