In the Amhara region of Ethiopia, half of the girls are married before they come of age. Some are as young as 12. Married to older men, they are often subjected to sexual and domestic violence. However, there is hope for these young girls. Thanks to recent initiatives to provide them with education, their lives can improve and attitudes are changing.

Gradually driven from their lands, the indigenous communities can no longer support themselves. In recent years, dozens of children have died from malnutrition and poverty. We went to meet these forgotten families and those who are trying to help them.
