US urges Kinshasa to resume French radio broadcasts
The United States on Thursday urged the Democratic Republic of Congo to resume broadcasts from Radio France International (RFI), which were cut to protest its post-election coverage. Paris-based RFI is a sister station of FRANCE 24.

AFP - The United States demanded Thursday that the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) permit the resumption of French radio broadcasts that were cut in protest over post-election coverage.
"We are concerned about these reports of Radio France International having been shut down. We urge the relevant Congolese authorities to reinstate RFI's frequencies immediately," State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said.
Kinshasa has temporarily cut RFI's signal to protest its post-election coverage in the country where incumbent Joseph Kabila was proclaimed president even though international observers denounced the polls as flawed.
The cut in broadcasting, which was supposed to have lasted until at least Tuesday, continued Thursday. From July 2009 until October 2010, Kinshasa totally shut down RFI, which was accused of demoralizing the army.

who to blame
The American Congolese have been fed up about the position of the U.S in Congo crisis that have been killed 6.000.000 and more death, and rapes continue. We believe with all we saw on this election that The international community, the 0bama administration, EU and The U.N mission in Congo support the dictatorial system in our Country of origin. We believe it's not to late to solve the Congolese problem before to choose the position of to be called the enemy of people.
RFIshut down in DRC
is this democracy? I wonder, if congo is a democratic country why the government is doing everithing it can to stop peoples talking and trying to find out about the election irregularity.no wonder the congolese peoples are feed up and now try to express their anger on politician.
attack of shabunda eastern DRCongo
the people of eastern DRC are tired with the killings which happen on daily basis. the problem is that the leadership in DRC is entertaining these killings we saw recently in kinshasa both police and the army patroling the capital city with heavy artillery in anticipation of opposition protest. my question why can,t these soldiers be deployed in the east to remove the rebels. and also this situation of hutus rebels can only come to an end once there is true democracy restored in rwanda but as long as the minority like kagame are still ruling that country the,re will no peace there and as long as the DRC so called authorities are still supporting the kagame regime the congolese wil remain the victims of this confict.
