President of Guinea-Bissau dies in Paris hospital

President Malam Bacai Sanha of the West African state of Guinea-Bissau has died in a French hospital in Paris, officials said on Monday. Sanha was 64 years old.

AFP - Guinea-Bissau's presidency on Monday confirmed in a statement the death of President Malam Bacai Sanha in the Val de Grace military hospital in Paris.

"The presidency informs Guinea-Bissau and the international community, with pain and dismay, of the death of his excellency Malam Bacai Sanha this morning at the Val de Grace in Paris where he was undergoing treatment," the statement said.
