There's more to life than the triple A

Some of the French papers are trying to see the bright side after France's downgrade by S&P - but there's still plenty of bad news, with crime and unemployment figures out today. There are champagne corks popping too though - for "The Artist" at the Golden Globes.

Le Figaro headlines on the fact that there are still some ratings agencies that have not downgraded France - while La Croix focuses on the resilience of the French economy.

Liberation has worse news though - they say the government has fiddled today's crime figures, and violent crimes have actually been on the rise for the past ten years.

Le Parisien says they're also being dishonest about unemployment - which their study shows is higher than ministers admit - while L'Humanité has already decided tomorrow's presidential summit on unemployment will be a waste of time.

The papers are celebrating too though - as "The Artist" starts to conquer Hollywood.

Make our Politicans where tee shirts with Either triple AAA approved ,or we been downgraded.whats it? AA or minus AAA.What prats as leaders we have in the west.Some unelected prats decided what state thier economy is run.PS There no downside,our leaders in Europe must be thick to be dictated to.
