Haute Couture Collections Spring-Summer 2012
Day Four of Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012.
By Media TV
The stars came out for Paris’ Spring Summer 2012 haute couture week. Singer Beth Ditto, actress Charlotte Rampling... strip teaser Dita Von Tesse and Catherine Deneuve.. all graced the front row in support of Jean Paul Gaultier. Inspired by the late pop icon Amy Winehouse, Gaultier payed tribute to the singer who died in July of 2011. Beehive clad models hit the runway complete with heavy black winged eyeliner. Lace corsets and leather jackets higlight the collections diversity. A departure from the haute couture staples of ball gowns, shimmering jackets and pencil skirts paired with balloon-sleeved shirts made of glitter.
The fashion house of Martin Margiela is unlike any other... Mr. Margiela, it’s creator, is no longer involved. The current owner Renzo Rosso also runs fashion house Viktor & Rolf. As well as the brand Diesel. This season’s collection showed clothing designed from objects, accessories and even other new clothes. One last detail...employees were orderd to wear a white overcoat at all times and were not allowed to answer any questions.
This was not the case at Christophe Josse where the images at times said more than the designer.
And finally to the house of Givenchy whose desinger Ricardo Tisci doesn’t like to get caught up in words or the runway frenzy. Worth noting...350 hours of work to cut and resew crocodile scales on to silk tulle.
We end this haute couture round up with a young and clever Parisienne house. On Aura tout vu..
A prophetic and visionary haute couture summer 2012
