Will Gingrich give up?

The American papers weigh in on where the GOP might go after the Florida primary - predicting a long fight can only boost Barack Obama, while tearing the Republicans apart. We also look at Syria, and the fall from grace of Fred the Shred.

The Daily Beast says the Florida primary proved two things - that the Tea Party is dying out, and that money matters.

The New York Times says the longer Gingrich fights, the easier things will be for the Obama campaign, as he picks on all Romney's weak points - and the Huffington Post says they're already using Romney's own tactics against him.

On Syria, he Independent's Robert Fisk says Bashar al-Assad could hang on for far longer than we imagine.

That paper headlines though on the disgrace of former RBS boss Fred Goodwin - saying if he's going to suffer for the financial crisis, why stop with him? It says there are plenty of politicians who were equally responsible.
