Pet medicine

Recent medical progress is allowing our pets to live longer, healthier lives. In this week's show we speak to vets in France, the UK and Canada to find out what's on offer in the growing world of pet medicine.

Our first stop is the UK, where pioneering techniques in bionic surgery mean dogs and cats can have prosthetic limbs.

Next, we go to a clinic just outside Paris to follow '"Kheops'" the dog, who is undergoing cancer treatment.

And finally, we speak to vets in Canada about a growing problem among household pets - obesity.
