China's 'African Village'
The Chinese media call it the "African Village". Lüjiazhuang is located in the south of Beijing and 10% of its villagers have now moved to Africa. They want to avoid the instability of contracts and salaries in China, no matter what the risk. However, after a recent series of abductions in Sudan and Egypt, the issue of protecting Chinese nationals in dangerous regions abroad has become more urgent.
