A special fashion report presenting next winter’s ready-to-wear collections…
It was a dour mood at Paris Fashion Week. While the luxury sector is experiencing double-digit growth due to international sales, France has hardly found a profitable route in terms of boutique sales. Designers need to be inventive and creative like Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel.
Karl Lagerfeld’s modern twist on the Chanel suit was inspired by the Cubism art movement. The new three-piece suit is accessorized with shiny appliqués and sequins… in flamboyant colors.
It was a star-studded extravanganza at the Lanvin show! Alber Elbaz celebrated10-years as Creative Director of the French house. The front row was packed with celebrities including Pharell Williams and Jessica Alba.
Alber Elbaz, l’un des stylistes les plus loués de sa génération.
Elbaz n’a pas proposé une rétrospective, mais une collection moderne, taillée dans des tissus techniques.
Elbaz didn’t offer a restrospective collection, but a modern one… built around technical fabrics.
Jean Paul Gaultier is no longer l’enfant terrible of the fashion world. He has secured his place in the designer hall of fame. His collection presented compressed leather, painted python, and woven graffiti prints.
Haider Ackermann, was extremely well received… even the photographers applauded. His collection was coherent, rigorous and fluid. The designer showed streamlined lines and minimal designs.
Karl Lagerfeld, Alber Elbaz, Jean Paul Gaultier, Haider Ackermann, the superheroes of fashion… so perhaps they will be able to save the haute couture world.
