In Thursday's pick of the press - we look at whether Charles Taylor should have been tried in Africa, whether China can end the conflict in South Sudan, and the light shone by the Bo Xilai case on the murky world of Beijing politics.

The Economist says that regardless of the Charles Taylor verdict, we should still be asking if African leaders shouldn't be tried in Africa.

The Independent has been to South Sudan - and is asking if this might be the moment when China takes on an international peacekeeping role to match its economic clout.

And The New York Times has some revelaions about the Bo Xilai case - including that he apparently hacked into President Hu Jintao's phone.
