SOS: Plants in danger
Across the world, plants and flowers are increasingly reaching the brink of extinction. We get the chance the hold one of the rarest plants in the world, find out how invasive species are killing precious forests in New Caledonia, and check out a controversial scheme to keep back the encroaching sands of the Sahara desert.
We head to Brest Botanic Gardens in Brittany, where botanists are cultivating dying species of plants and flowers so they can be sent back to their homelands.
In New Caledonia, we find out how authorities are fighting back against a green invader that’s threatening the biodiversity of the island.
And finally, we check out a scheme that’s caused a lot of controversy - Africa’s Great Green Wall. Is the plan to build a wall of trees across the continent really feasible?
