Document raises questions over build-up to genocide

The assassination of Rwandan president Juvenal Habyarimana on 6 April 1994 lit the torchpaper for the genocide that killed 800,000 Rwandan Tutsis. No one has ever claimed responsibility for shooting down Habyarimana's plane, but until now some blamed Tutsi militants. Now a document revealing the existence of French missiles in the Rwandan army's arsenal raises new questions about who was behind the killing.

French submarines in murky waters

Pakistan is said to be close to buying three French submarines, but negotiations are unfolding in a context of suspicions of corruption linked to a previous submarine sale, said to be linked to the Karachi bombing of 2002.
