Egypt's new president is waiting in the wings... but is the military still in control?
The vote count is still underway in Egypt following the weekend's presidential run-off, but the ruling military council had something of a game-changer in store once the ballot ended on Sunday night - they granted themselves powers which had until then been with the president. It essentially seems to defang the country's top job and has been denounced by activists as a coup, in all but name. The military council, however, has said it's more about a solution to political discord.
