Votes go to the highest bidder in Mexican elections

Mexicans will go to the polls on Sunday to elect a new president, local mayors, senators and members of Parliament. The presidential campaign has been running for three months and the fear of electoral fraud remains a constant worry. Although the electoral watchdog and thousands of observers will be present at the voting stations, it's very difficult to prevent irregularities in the polling process. The buying of votes, as well as the bribing of people with gifts, are old practices.

Could methane hydrate solve Tokyo's energy crisis?

After 10 years of research, Japanese engineers have extracted offshore methane hydrate from beneath the ocean floor. The substance, more commonly called flammable ice, is a great hope for the future of Japan, which desperately lacks energy since almost all of its nuclear reactors remain shut after the Fukushima disaster. France 24 asks if methane hydrates will solve the energy puzzle for Japan, or even the world.

South Dakota introduces law allowing teachers to carry guns

It is now more than four months since 20 children and six adults were gunned down at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut. At the time, President Obama declared that enough was enough, and that new gun laws had to be brought in. But all the proposals from the White House for new legislation have come to nothing: every one of them has failed in Congress. Gun culture remains alive and well in the US, especially in the rural heartland, as our correspondent found out.

Germany's 'trial of the year' begins as alleged neo-Nazi appears in court

Germany's trial of the year, that of Beate Zschäpe, is opening in Munich. She's the sole survivor of the NSU terror cell and alleged accomplice in 9 racially motivated murders. The case will revisit a scandal that shook the Turkish community: for years, police ignored clues that suggested racist attacks and instead blamed the mafia. Victims’ relatives were even suspects. Turks in Germany began to believe that authorities were blind to detecting racist crimes. Will the trial change that?

Malaysian opposition optimistic ahead of general election

Malaysians head to the polls this Sunday, and for the first time since independence in 1957, an opposition party could clinch victory. The ruling party, Barisan Nasional, is the world's longest continually elected governing coalition. Yet it has become increasingly unpopular over the past five years. Malaysians are now voicing disapproval at widespread allegations of corruption.

Here is a video that shows a truck from the electoral party known as PRI that loads hundred of ballot papers that are supposed to be under surveillance of the Electoral Federal Institute. How is this possible?

A newly ring has been distributed among the electoral corps in order to annul the votes for the left-wing candidate. The ring has a tip that is made out of graphite. While counting the votes the electoral corps will scratch the ballot papers to make them invalid. A friend of mine has received the ring since he is going to count the votes in my colony and people from the rigth-wing party known as PRI tried to convince him to use it.

Excellent report

Here in Mexico we have a problem, this kind of reports are never released for the local media, tv and radio hide all these unlegal facts.
Thanks for your help, we're looking to spread this in our country and overseas.

Peña Nieto is repressive and corrupt.

We mexicans do not want PRI's party candidate Peña Nieto to become our president, this party and this man are the most corrupt in the country. Peña Nieto has been repressor when he was governor and he is being repressor nowadays with young students and asked the university authorities to punish them because of their expressions, he don't respect the freedom of speech. He also lies all the time with his paid polls.
