'Duck, stop quacking! The Free Syrian Army is going to catch you'

People in the small town of Kafranbel in north-western Syria are taking on the Assad regime with cartoons depicting their leader as, among other things, Gollum out of The Lord of the Rings. His wife's pet name for Bashar al-Assad is "Duck" and that, too, has become a source of roadside graffiti. That's the focus for this edition of Media Watch, Friday 6th July 2012.

Is Christine Boutin the new Marion Cotillard?

Second edition of MediaWatch from Monday, 25th March 2013. A tense anti-gay march in Paris last weekend lead to a prominent Catholic politician being tear-gassed. Some online doubt the sincerity of photos showing Christine Boutin having fainted. A blog with take-offs of the photo has been started, reminiscent of a similar blog mocking actress Marion Cotillard for her dying scene in the film "Dark Knight Rises".
