Syria conflict: On the frontline
Getting to the truth in Syria has proved a major challenge for foreign journalists. Barred from reporting, news organisations have often been forced to rely on so-called citizen journalism. Amateur videos uploaded to the internet provide a snapshot of the horrors unfolding in Syrian cities, but they do not tell a complete story. Laura Baines and her panel try to paint a clearer picture of what's happening on the ground in Syria.

Sorry
I hadn't watched the video when I wrote my other comment.
I just have been frustrated that there haven't been deep analyzing coverage such as this. I'm generalizing all media and news too, so I'm sorry, first time I'm on France24. My other comment, just something to think about in the future. Of course, selling the Black/White is more profitable for you I'm sure, but we want to understand, and I think media wishes to be understood as well. I want to believe that.
So many rumors start by poor coverage, what I uncovered (digging into early 2011) the Syrian people (civilian, rebels, regime) spoke of a 3rd party being involved. Although they speculated on this themselves; I think their speculation is more authentic than the foreign speculations. Something to think about in the future perhaps?
Internet in Syria
I found rather quickly discussion and speculation from what I think is the Syrian people on a forum (using google translate to figure out what they are saying) at syria-news.org. Not everyone in Syria is a rebel or fighting, there are those on the sidelines. I am astonished that I there hasn't been any interviews with any of these people on the sidelines in Syria, or anyone taking contact with them (or have I simply just missed that coverage?).
News corporations and media have chosen themselves to get the angle on the war between the furious rebels and the furious regime. So you're only giving us an extreme Black and an extreme White. Where's the extreme Gray?
